A love of television

I love television. I love it so much to the point that i want to work in television. I see a show and I dissect it.
The first thing I love about T.V is how it can touch your heart with every episode. I mean it can point out things about your life that you didn't realize yet, it can open your eyes on new perspective of things in just an hour. It can make you laugh when you feel like there is nothing funny in the world. I just feel like television connects us all in some way.
It's like it gives us all something to talk about, or something you can break the ice with when you meet someone new. When you have nothing to say, you can always ask " Did you see Grey's Anatomy last night" or whatever show you like. Even if they don't like the show, you go into this ling conversation about how you think it's great and they are crazy for not loving it. I get most of my quotes in life from television. I mean my senior quote was something I heard on that cartoon Wolverines.
The second thing i love about T.V is its humor. Television is the only source where you can parody something and it doesn't become redundant. Unlike those dumb parody movies. Look at SNL. They make fun of everything from politics to things in pop culture. The country is in shambles and the world doesn't know whats going to happen. But every other Weekend on SNL you get the chance to look at something serious in a funny way. Then laugh and not feel bad about it. Then on Family guy they push it sometimes, but it seems like they are always saying the things that we don't, but in a hilarious fashion. It's just the way Television gives you the chance to laugh at something they talk about that has happened to you so you can relate. Then when you don't understand why, it shows you that it's o.k not to understand because no one does.
Then the one thing I love about TV is the way it wakes you out of your own drama. I mean we wish some shows would last forever and we run home after work on certain days just so we can see what's going on with Gossip Girl this week. It takes us out of this crap life that some of us have and for an hour ever week we don't think about how bad our jobs are and we don't think about the things we dont have and we just stop and watch these shows. Because the characters on this show do things that we wish we could do. I mean they tell off there bosses and keep there jobs. They fall in love and it lasts forever. It gives you hope that one day things will change and you'll get the courage to tell you boss to shove it, and that some day you'll find your soul mate. And sometimes that's all we need is hope.
So that's why I love TV. It can change you. Or maybe I am wrong.
Whats everyone else s opinions on television?
